It has now been 38 years since I graduated high school. But I still remember a lot of it. It was a very different world then. We did not have lock-ins or some after graduation thing at the school. We went to someone or several someone's houses that night. And yes many of us should probably not have been driving.  But we were the first class of the 1980's. We thought we could not be destroyed. Even though I graduated from a Catholic high school we still had our share of problems and still got into some trouble. And it was great the next day watching the neighborhood underclassmen still have to get up and go to school for about another week.

Many of my friends had plans to go to school right away in the fall. I was not sure what I wanted to do yet. School was not easy for me so I wanted a break. Some of my classmates even got married less than a year after graduation.  I think about half of them were getting divorced a short time later.

My point to the Class of 2018.  Cherish your last days of school, your graduation events and I wish you the best of luck as you start your future. It can be a bit of a scary world at first as you venture out more on your own. But as long as you don't do anything stupid, and you stay on your path (hopefully a good one)you have chosen, many good things should come your way. Congratulations Class of 2018
