The Medford boys cross country team repeated as Gopher Conference champs Tuesday in Hayfield. The Tigers placed three individuals in the top ten with Tyler Stursa third, Cohen Stursa fifth, and Garrett Fitzgerald ninth. In team points, Medord scored 45, followed by Maple River 57, WEM/JWP 58, Blooming Prairie 93, NRHEG 102, and Hayfield 158. See the full boys standings at Wayzata Results.

Cole Stenzel of Maple River was the overall boys winner. Daniel Nydegger of NRHEG finished second. In the girls race, WEM/JWP had a perfect score with the top five finishers. NRHEG was second. Blooming Prairie took third. Medford did not field a full team for the girls.

At the Big Nine cross country meet at Brooktree Golf Course in Owatonna, the OHS girls finished third behind Carsyn Brady's second place finish individually. Red Wing won the team title with 76 points. Faribault was second with 96. Owatonna had 106. Grace Johnson of Red Wing won the race in 19:01.8. Brady finished in 19:10.9.

Owatonna's other runners for their team score include Jaci Burtis 13th, Kaitlin Bruessel 24th, Madelin Bruessel 38th, and Jeni Burtis 39th. See the full results here.

In the boys race, Rochester Century won the title, edging Mankato East 81 to 83 points. Winona was a close third with 88. Faribault finished fourth with 97. OHS came in fifth with 118. The individual champ was Carter Briggs of Winona.

Owatonna's finishers include Preston Meier 9th, Brayden Williams 19th, Trevor Hiatt 21st, Jack Meiners 34th, and Connor Ginskey 35th. See the full results here.

In other Owatonna sports Tuesday, the girls swimming and diving team won at Faribault 96-90, volleyball got swept by Rochester John Marshall 3-0, b-squad football closed its season with a 52-6 win over JM, and the ninth-graders won 46-0.

In area volleyball, Blooming Prairie defeated United South Central 3-1 and Stewartville topped Triton 3-1.
