McDonald’s China is Using a Minnesota Product to Create an… Interesting New Burger
McDonald's China has come up with quite the... interesting new burger using a product made right here in Minnesota. It's a Spam and Oreo burger with McDonald's special sauce on top. That sounds disgusting to me.
According to CNN Travel, this burger was available for only one day. While I think it sounds gross the burger is described as having "a hint of sweet aftertaste" and "full of meatiness" according to the announcement made by McDonald's China. Sorry, I'm still not sold.
Would you ever try this? This bizarre burger (can you even call it a burger if it's Spam and not beef?) is 2 thick slabs of Spam, crushed Oreos on top of the Spam, and the McDonald's special sauce on top. All of that is in between a bun.
The communications manager of McDonald's in China, Abbie Xie, spoke with CNN Travel about this bizarre burger. She said Spam "'is a trending food among youngsters nowadays'" and that Oreo's are "'a snack youngsters are familiar with.'" So by combining the two "'it doesn't only showcase the collision of tastes and textures, it is also quite topical socially.'" I don't care how hip these foods are, it still sounds nasty.
Even if this burger doesn't sound appealing to you, there are plenty of delicious foods at fast-food restaurants around here. Best of all, we found recipes so you can make them at home!
