The grain markets are showing some signs of life as we head into the Christmas Holiday. Typically grain markets see very low volume as many traders take time off between Christmas and New Years Day. However, if there is some type of bullish or bearish news you can see markets move very quickly because of the low volume. So, we do need to pay attention!

Looking to next weeks schedule, Monday is a normal trading Day. Tuesday the grain and livestock markets close early at noon. The markets will be closed Wednesday Christmas Day and remain closed until Thursday morning at 8:30 am. Some of the financial  markets will be trading but that is the schedule for the grain and livestock markets.

All County Farm Service Agency offices in Minnesota will be closed Tuesday Christmas Eve Day and of Course Wednesday Christmas Day. I also checked with Extension Educator Claire La Canne at the Rice and Steele County Extension Office. Claire said each County Extension office sets their own holiday schedule. So, before heading to your local Extension office call ahead!
