Manke's Outdoor Equipment and Appliance is celebrating its 70th year in business, and Harley Manke is scheduled to be a guest on Wednesday's KDHL AM Minnesota program.

I hope to find out during our interview at the Steele County Free Fair in Owatonna how long Manke's has been at Minnesota's largest county fair. I know Harley used to sell new vehicles, and I'm sure we will get more details.

Remember, the Commercial Exhibit Building and Muckle Museum Building open at 11AM and close at 10PM.

"Goldy Gopher" is scheduled to be a special guest at the Federated Booth from 11:30AMto 1:15PM.

It's Kids Day on Wednesday with a ride special from noon to 5PM, featuring a $20 wristband for all the rides you can ride during that time.

There are a lot of free acts performing on the various stages, and more than 100 food booths mean you can sample several stands a day and still not come close to sampling all the food at the fair.

The Human Cannonball David Smith Jr. is shot over a ride on the midway at 5:30PM and 8:30PM.

Smith told us on AM Minnesota on Tuesday he gets scared every time he gets into the cannon and will quit when he isn't nervous anymore.

There's a free kid's day show featuring Ronald McDonald at 11AM on the United Prairie Bank Stage.

Faribault's own Jivin' Ivan performs in the Beer Garden at 3PM.

At 8:30PM, Johnny Holm hits the Stage in the Beer Garden.

Tuesday night the new Elmer Reseland Stage was dedicated in honor and memory of the former Secretary/Manager of the Steele County Free Fair.
