Taylors Falls, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man was airlifted to a Twin Cities trauma center Friday afternoon after he fell off a rock face at a popular State Park in east-central Minnesota.

The Chisago County Sheriff's Office says it received a 911 call around 12:10 p.m. about a man who was overlooking a ledge along the St. Croix River at Interstate State Park near Taylors Fall when he fell about 30 feet. A news release says he landed on the rocky edge of the river in an area known as "Angle Rock" where only a boat rescue would be feasible.

Members of the local Technical Rescue Team launched rescue boats and worked with paramedics to reach the man and stabilize him for transport to a hospital. The Sheriff's Office says he is believed to be in critical condition. The man's name has not been released.
