Maybe  it's because folks have had a better year economically. Maybe it's because the weather over Thanksgiving looks pretty good. Maybe people feel the need to bond more with all of the bad things that have happened in 2017.

According to AAA Minneapolis, 51 million people are expected to be traveling for this year's holiday. The highest in many years. And those people are expected to travel 50 miles or more. When is the busiest time supposed to afternoon.) Drivers are paying the highest gas prices since 2014.

89 percent of the travelers will be on the roads. The rest expected to be traveling by air. Air fares are reported to be the lowest since 2013. AAA recommends getting to the airport at least two hours early. Add a half hour if you have kids and or many bags to check.
