All Minnesota Farm Service Agency officers are still closed to farmers. However, Gary Kunz Director for the Le Sueur and Rice County Farm Service Agency (FSA) said they can now have all the staff in the office. This has helped as all the staff have been busy taking farmers crop certification. Farmers pick up the maps or have them emailed, fill them out and return them to the FSA office.

Another top priority is the COVID-19 CFAP Program. Gary said they have a simple form that farmers can fill in the information and then they enter the data into the computer and in just a few days the payments are deposited in farmers checking account. Remember, apple growers can now sign up for the CFAP program too. There is also a lot of interest in the USDA's facility loan program with interest rates as low as a half a percent.
