Kenyon Rose Fest this weekend is filled with activities for people of all ages.  Literally the whole family can find something to do during the community celebration.

Doug and Mary Klatt were named Grand Marshals for the Sunday, August 20, 2023 Parade which starts 1:00 p.m.

Also Wednesday evening organizers announced the 2023 Royalty and Junior Royalty.  Madison Stenbakken and Talia Johson.

Thursday evening there was a Town Cruise of golf carts, ATV/UTV parade.

Friday city wide garage sales begin. There is also an Antique and Collectibles Sale at the Gunderson House 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Book sale in City Council Chamber 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. ALSO Saturday 9:00 a.m. until Noon.

Hog Roast inside the Kenyon VFW from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Wine and Beer Tasting at Lacey's Kitchen and Cocktails hosted by Kenyon Park and Rec.

8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Street Dance outside Kenyon Muni features Lost Highway with special guest Jake Nelson,  It's an all ages welcome show with $10 cover charge.

Saturday The Dads are featured outside the Muni from 8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with their special guest Bryan Anderson.  Like Friday, it's all ages welcome with $10 cover charge.

Team Limousine is providing a shuttle service between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. for people to get home without driving Friday and Saturday night.

Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Kenyon Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a Pancake Breakfast outside Kenyon Muni.  If it rains it will be at the Fire Hall.

7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Bloody Mary Bar is outside the Kenyon Muni

Rose Fest Car Show is from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with $100 cash drawings being held every hour.

9:00 a.m. Tractor Pull on the Maring Auction Lot next to Milo Peterson Ford on Highway 56 North, Kenyon.

9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Vendor and Craft Market on 4th Street by Methodist Church.

10:00 a.m. Road Rally lineup at Elevator.

10:00 a.m.  Kid's Pedal Tractor Pull at Security State Bank.  If it rains, will be held at Fire Hall.

10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. VFW Ladies Auxillary lunch is served at VFW.

11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. United Methodist Church Ladies Luncheon at 429 4th Street.

11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Gunderson House tours.

FREE Family Fun Day activities at Depot Park from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

3:00 p.m. Dedication of the Kenyon High School monument on old school site.  Reception follows at First Lutheran Church.

3:00 p.m. Zumbrota Community Band performs in Veterans Park

4:00 p.m. Field of Flags Closing Ceremony at Veterans Park.  Purchase a flag through a free will donation with proceeds benefiting Kenyon Veterans Color Guard.  Phone Mac at 789-5461.  (I purchased one in memory of my Dad who served in World War II and was a DAV due to his service. Injured during a training excercise).

We did have a special Rose Fest Preview Radio Show Thursday afternoon in the new Angie's Restaurant downtown.  Angies features 12 varieties of ice cream she rotates to keep the choices varied.
