When Kenny Chesney took the stage at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Saturday night (June 9), it was in front of a record-breaking audience of 55,238 adoring fans. Chesney's live performance of "American Kids" was put on hold by an enthusiastic crowd, who cheered loudly for more than 30 seconds before Chesney interrupted the fan fair.

“THIS is why we can’t wait to … get to … Philadelphia every summer.” Chesney told the crowd, who then launched into an a capella performance of the chorus of the song.

The massive crowd had even more reason to cheer when Chesney played his hit song, "The Boys of Fall," for the first time on his Trip Around the Sun Tour in the home arena of Super Bowl LII Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I wanted to play it for the first time this summer in the home of the Super Bowl Champions,” Chesney told his fans, among which were several members of the winning team, including Carson Wentz, Zach Ertz, Head Coach Doug Pederson, and owner Jeffrey Lurie, who showed up on stage during the song along with the Lombardi trophy.

Earlier in the day, the Eagles had made a contribution of $25,000 to the Love for Love City Foundation, which benefits victims of Hurricane Irma and the work that Chesney has done for the island of St. John and the other Virgin Island.

“There are no words for how the people of Philadelphia, the Eagles organization and everyone at the Linc make us feel,” Chesney said, following the show. “The audiences have always been right there with us, all heart and soul and believing in what sports and music can do. But having so many guys from the team turn out, the generous gift for the Love for Love City Fund, the cheers from the fans, that blows me away.”
