It seems that every year there are some "last minute" changes as to which farmer will be renting a farm. When those changes occur it is important to let your local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office know that you will be renting a farm that you did not farm last year. It is also important to let the FSA office know if you will not be renting  a farm this year.

FSA staff will catch any changes when you certify your planted acres but it is a lot easier to take care of now rather than later. FSA staff need a copy of the cash rental agreement that is signed by the owner. The agreement needs to "state the correct owner, where the land is located and the number of acres being rented," As always if you have any questions stop in or give your FSA office a call. There is no such thing as a "silly question."
