Kasson Cop Facing New Child Sex Charges
Mantorville, MN (KROC AM News) - New criminal charges have been filed against a Kasson police officer who is accused of sexually abusing juveniles over a period of 20 years.
Charges were filed in Olmsted County Court last month against 51-year-old Julio Baez, who has a St. Charles address. According to the criminal complaint, the alleged sexual abuse took place in Byron between 2006 and 2011 and involved two victims.
The new case was filed Friday in Dodge County Court, accusing Baez of sexually abusing three juveniles. The complaint says the abuse took place between 1998 and 2006 while Baez lived in Dodge Center.
Prosecutors said earlier there were also reports of sexual abuse involving Baez in Rice County but charges have not yet been filed in that investigation. Baez remains in custody in the Olmsted County jail. He is scheduled to make another court hearing Friday.
