Karin Schaefer has been named the new Executive Director of the Minnesota Farm Bureau effective June 1, 2020. For the last 8 years Karin has been the Executive Director of the Minnesota Beef Research and Promotion Council. Before that Karin worked for the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation as Public Relations associate director working with the Young Farmers and Ranchers and Promotion and Education Committees.

I can proudly say I knew Karin before all of the experience! I interviewed Karin when she was a Dakota County Dairy Princess and member of the Randolph FFA. It is so great to see these "kids" grow up, head off to college, graduate school and come back to Minnesota and have great careers in agriculture!

"Karin's vision, background and understanding of the issues facing agriculture and Farm Bureau will enable her to immediately step into the role of executive director" said MFBF President Kevin Paap. "She is the perfect fit to help Minnesota Farm Bureau accomplish our mission to be an advocate for agriculture driven by the beliefs of our members."

Karin and Matt farm in Wright County raising beef cattle, crops and own and operate an agricultural fencing company Grassland Solutions. Karin and Matt have three children.
