The Faribault High School Theatre Troupe is set to perform one of my favorite musicals, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." I know these young thespians have been working and rehearsing for quite a while in order to bring you the best performance of this classic Broadway play, which will be brought to life starting next Thursday, April 20, with an ASL performance at 7:30PM. There are also shows on Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22, at 7:30PM and a matinee performance at 2PM on Sunday, April 23. All shows will be held in the Michael J. Hanson Performing Arts Center at the Faribault High School.

This family-friendly operetta was written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber and is based upon the Coat of Many Colors story of Joseph in the Bible's Book of Genesis. Past performances that I've attended had little spoken dialogue, relying instead on dialogue through singing to convey the story. It's filled with songs you will recognize and is quite, well, colorful.

Buy your tickets soon by calling (507) 333-6109 or email for reservations at fhsspringmusical@faribault.k12.mn.us or purchase your tickets at the door one-half hour before the show. $7/adults, $5/college students and $4/students and seniors.

Pick up some tickets and make a nice evening of it by going out for dinner beforehand at one of Faribault's fine dining establishments and then heading over to the high school for a wonderful play to cap off the evening.
