Last Wednesday Brent Fuchs and I had out last third grade visit of the year. This time it was Jefferson Elementary in Faribault. Again the students were very polite, attentive and well behaved! This winter Brent and I talked with third graders at the Cannon River Stem School, Divine Mercy, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Jefferson Elementary schools. The visits were organized by the Faribault Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee.Hopefully the weather will warm up soon because the Chamber Agribusiness Committee is setting up a farm visit for each of the classes.

All of the third graders will be bussed out to actually visit a farm. A number of Agribusiness committee members go along on the farm visits to help the teachers keep track of all the students. The cost of bussing all the students is paid for by a grant from the Cargill Foundation. So, thank you to the Cargill Foundation for helping educate third graders about farming and how their food ends up at the grocery store.
