
Rochester Man Accused of Repeatedly Sexually Assaulting Teen Over Period of 5 Years
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man has been charged in a sexual assault case involving a teenage victim.

The criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court on Thursday, says Rochester police responded to a residence on the report of a sexual assault on the night of September 23.
The victim is described as an 18-year-old woman.
46-Year-Old Rochester Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen, Requesting Sexually Explicit Images Over Period of Five Years
During interviews with law enforcement the victim alleged that 46-year-old Daniel Chase Kopsell had been sexually abusing her since she was 13 years old.
She told officers the abuse escalated over time and that the sexual assaults were in exchange for money, wifi access and getting out of trouble, the court document states.

Kopsell is accused of sexually assaulting the victim as recently as last month, according to the complaint.
Explicit Messages Found During Rochester Teen Sex Assault Investigation
The court document also alleges that Kopsell would request sexually explicit photos of the victim and would take away her privileges or belongings if she refused.

The victim provided officers with screen shots of the sexually explicit messages, the charges say.
Police executed a search warrant at Kopsell’s residence on Monday and seized electronic devices.
A review of the devices was ongoing at the time of the raid, however investigators found text messages on Kopsell’s phone that corroborated the victim’s report, the complaint says.
Kopsell is charged with one count each of first, second and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
His conditional bail was set at $100,000 following his first court appearance Thursday morning and he is due back in court next month.
