The victim, who was seen with a swelling face and was bleeding from his face, told police that he had acted as a “middle man” for drug transactions for Ogak, the charges say.

He explained Ogak had given him $1,500 to purchase oxycodone, the complaint says. The victim said he could not get the drugs and arranged to meet Ogak at an unnamed gas station in Rochester to return the money.

Victim Says Armed Man Accused Him of Stealing

Ogak arrived and instructed the victim to enter the vehicle he was in. The victim thought he was getting in to give the money back to Ogak, however Ogak, who the victim said had a gun on him, began driving and indicated the victim was robbing him, according to the complaint.

The victim said he showed Ogak the money but said Ogak wouldn’t take it and said Ogak drove erratically back to his residence in northwest Rochester.

When the vehicle arrived at Ogak’s home, the victim said a group of people, most of whom were wearing masks, were waiting for them. He reported being pulled out of the vehicle, taken into the home and beaten by the group of people, the complaint says.

The victim told investigators he was struck with a pistol multiple times and said members of the group took his smart watch, phone and hat. The group used the victim’s phone to make a $150 Cash App transfer to Ogak’s girlfriend, the court document says.

The alleged assailants, who were threatening to kill the victim, also obtained the $1,500 the victim said he was intent on returning to Ogak, the charges say.

Ogak then arranged an Uber ride to return the victim to his vehicle at the gas station. The victim then drove himself to the hospital.

Blood Evidence Found at Scene of Alleged Assault & Robbery

Police executed a search warrant at Ogak’s residence on Tuesday. Officers saw what the complaint describes as “blood evidence” in the home. Investigators also searched the vehicle the victim said he was picked up in.

Officers arrested Ogak on Friday. The complaint says Ogak was, “laughing and smiling,” while investigators explained during an interview that retaliation against the victim was unlawful.
