Federal Grand Jury Indicts Two 21-Year-Olds & 18-Year-Old for Twin Cities Gas Station Robberies

21-year-old Dylan Charles Jungwirth, 21-year-old Kenneth Toy Spight and 18-year-old Kemonie Hurd are each facing charges for violating the Hobbs act. If convicted they could face life in prison if convicted in the case, the news release says.

Jungwirth and Spight are accused of committing the first robbery shortly before 6 a.m. on August 17 at a Speedway gas station in Roseville. Hurd then joined Jungwirth and Spight in robberies of a BP gas station in Little Canada around 8:30 a.m., according to federal court documents.

The trio then hit a BP gas station in Roseville shortly after 9 a.m., the federal indictment alleges. All three of the alleged robberies were at gunpoint.

During the BP robbery in Roseville, one of the suspects allegedly struck a clerk in the eye with the gun, causing a laceration and burst blood vessel in the cashier’s eye after the worker refused the robber’s demand to turn over his wallet and instead made an attempt to grab the airsoft gun, according to the indictment.

Authorities later determined the gun was an airsoft replica firearm, the news release says.

St. Paul Police then spotted the suspect vehicle and pursued it. The vehicle crashed and officers captured one of the suspects.

The two others fled on foot, prompting a manhunt near the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Police eventually captured the two other alleged robbers.

Spight, Hurd and Jungwirth made their first court appearances at the federal courthouse in Minneapolis on Monday. All three have been ordered to remain in custody pending further proceedings.
