Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has released an autopsy report for a missing woman who was found dead in Rochester.

Rochester Police previously identified a body found on February 7 as 28-year-old Feroza Sherzai.

The department issued a missing person alert for her in January, saying she was last seen alive on foot in the area of Hwy. 63 and County Rd. 16, which is near the Rochester Airport, around 4:30 p.m. on January 17. 

Police stated she was believed to have been traveling to the State of Virginia. 

Autopsy Reveals Cause & Manner of Death of Woman Found in Wooded Area Near Rochester Airport

An autopsy released by the medical examiner says Sherzai’s body was found in a wooded area east of Hwy. 63, which is in the area where she was last seen. 

She was determined to have suffered injuries caused by prolonged exposure cold weather and died from Hypothermia, the autopsy indicates.

The medical examiner is classifying the 28-year-old woman’s death as accidental.

At the time of the body discovery, Rochester police said there were no indications of foul play.

A total of 59 sightings were reported via the National UFO Reporting Center across the state of Minnesota in 2025, a slight decrease compared to the 68 reports from 2024, but more than the 45 reported sightings in Minnesota in 2023.
