Rochester Man Accused of Stealing E-Bike from Woman's Garage Facing Felony Burglary and Theft Charges

The victim told officers she had left the bike in an attached garage and left the door slightly open the night before the theft report.

When she woke the next morning she discovered the e-bike, listed with a value of $1,902.43 in the complaint, was missing.

The next day, law enforcement arrived at Uhde’s residence, which the charges say is less than a mile from the victim’s home, to serve a search warrant related to the other burglary investigation.

Officers encountered Uhde riding away from the home on the stolen bike, the charges say. Uhde told police he did not know how he got the bike but admitted to taking it during a series of burglaries he committed, the court document says.

Uhde made his first appearance in Olmsted County Court on Wednesday. His conditional bail was set at $25,000 and he’s due back in court in August.
