Chatfield Woman Gets 10 Years in Prison for Drug Conviction
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Chatfield woman with a long history of felony drug convictions has been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for a drug bust that occurred earlier this year.
Plea Agreement Resolves Two Criminal Cases
Forty-eight-year-old Shannon Marie Weisbrod was given a 125-month prison sentence on Tuesday after she entered into a plea agreement and admitted to a charge of first-degree drug possession. Under the terms of her plea agreement, a first-degree drug sales charge in that case, along with a list of charges, including first-degree drug sales and second-degree drug possession in a second case, were dismissed.
Traffic Stop Led to Methamphetamine Seizure
Olmsted County court records state that Weisbrod was arrested in late January following a traffic stop connected to an investigation launched by the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office near the end of 2025. The criminal complaint indicates investigators electronically and physically monitored her movements and observed that she was making multiple short trips each week to locations in the Twin Cities known for drug trafficking.
More Than 116 Grams of Methamphetamine Recovered
The court document says the traffic stop was initiated while Weisbrod was returning from a trip to the Twin Cities. A K-9 unit was deployed during the traffic stop and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of more than 116 grams of methamphetamine and two digital scales.
Second Drug Case Dismissed Under Plea Deal
In the case that was dismissed through the plea agreement, Weisbrod was accused of possessing nearly 50 grams of methamphetamine after Olmsted County Sheriff's deputies responded to an emergency call in May regarding a vehicle stopped on a rural road southeast of Rochester. The criminal complaint says the responding deputy found the vehicle parked in the middle of the road with its doors open and Weisbrod in the passenger seat, appearing "very disoriented" and displaying numerous signs of intoxication.
Court records indicate Weisbrod has multiple previous felony drug convictions dating back to 2015.
