A former Minnesota Viking has been named to the list of 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Kevin Williams played for the Vikings from 2003, when he was drafted, through 2013. Williams finished his NFL career playing for the New Orleans Saints.

Named To Final 15, For The First Time

Williams, who is in his 6th year of eligibility to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, was named a finalist for the first time. Also named as a finalist today were:

Larry Fitzgerald

Frank Gore

Torry Holt

Luke Kuechly

Eli Manning

Terrell Suggs

Adam Vinatieri

Reggie Wayne

Jason Witten

One Half Of The Williams Wall

Kevin Williams, drafted 9th overall in the 2003 draft, started his rookie season as a Defensive End before changing technique and working the interior of the defensive line as a Defensive Tackle.

Williams was known for his time as a DT, and his pairing with Pat Williams, and getting the moniker the Williams Wall, as they often clogged up the middle of the defense, forcing opponents to either run to the outside or pass.

Fans of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will have to wait until February to see who will be inducted in the class of 2026.

Kevin Williams was announced as one of the 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, class of 2026 this morning. After being drafted 9th overall in 2003 for the Minnesota Vikings he spent the next 10 years with the organization, amassing over 171 regular-season games played for the Vikings and totaling 465 tackles, five interceptions, 60 sacks, 84 QB hits, 104 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles, 13 fumble recoveries, and 68 passes defensed. Williams scored four defensive touchdowns for Minnesota. Two were interceptions returns and two fumble recoveries.

After having spent the greater part of the last three weeks outside Minnesota, it has been great to be back. We live in a very beautiful part of the country. From the North Shore's jagged cliffs to the rolling croplands of southern Minnesota and to the driftless area near Preston, our state is filled with beautiful sights.
