Ford announced Wednesday that they will be discontinuing the Ford Fiesta subcompact, Fusion midsize and Taurus full-size sedans.

First of all, I have always thought that Ford Fiestas are adorable, especially the green ones! But now I might never be able to get one...

Second of all, my first car was a Ford Taurus, and that baby is still running. My brother drives it now! So the Taurus, or The Tank as we call it, holds a special place in my heart.

Quick story: We call it The Tank because, 1. it's been running for what seems like forever to me, 2. any car that isn't a compact car I consider to be a big vehicle, therefore, it's a tank, and 3. I rear-ended someone when I was in high school and the bumper of the other person's car totally cracked and smashed and The Tank had a small hole in the front.

So yeah, it's a pretty great car! 10 out of 10.

So I'm extra sad  :( because not only did Volkswagen announce the discontinuation of my favorite car (the Beetle) this year, but now my first car ever is being discontinued too!

CEO Jim Hacket said that they will be "getting rid of all cars in the region during the next four years except for the Mustang sports car and a compact Focus crossover vehicle."

He said that there was declining demand and profitability of these cars, which is why they're being discontinued.

How do people not love the Taurus and Fiesta?!

Has your first car ever been discontinued?
