MnDot has closed Highway 19 in the Henderson area due to flooding of the Minnesota river over the road. And there is a good possibility that Highway 93 from Highway 169 to Henderson will also close if the water level continues to rise.

In the Twin Cities officials will also close Water Street between Highway 13 and Plato Boulevard in St. Paul at 6 p.m. Thursday, due to forecasted flooding from the Mississippi River.

Considering all of the snow we had in some areas and as quick as things warmed up over the last week, and given the fact water levels were up as the winter season got under way, it has been good that we have not had more flooding situations.

Last week a section of Highway 93, between 308th Lane and Ridge Road in Henderson, was closed until further notice. MnDOT advises motorists to watch for traffic control devices as officials continue to monitor the situation.
