How to Donate Unwanted Computers & Other Gadgets to Southern Minnesota Students
Some schools in Minnesota will be distant learning, others will be doing a hybrid. But with either one of these plans, students need reliable technology in order to be able to learn. There is a way that you can help out!
Affinity Plus is doing Tech Drive Tuesdays across Minnesota to help out students in need. They teamed up with KARE 11 and Minnesota Computers for Schools in order to do this "to connect families in need with the computers and access required for their children’s education and development."
Here are the items that you can donate: servers, computers, towers, desktop computers, smartphones, tablets, LCD monitors, networking equipment, laptops, mice. and keyboards.
There is a Tech Drive Tuesday coming up in Southern Minnesota. You can donate any of the above items you may have to students in need on Tuesday, September 1st from Noon - 5 PM at either the Affinity Plus location in Faribault (900 NW 4th Street) or Mankato (1600 Madison Ave., Suite 101A). They specify on their site that computer donations will not be accepted outside of the designated dates/times.
So if you have gadgets sitting around that you do not use anymore, bring them in to the upcoming Tech Drive Tuesday so you can help out a local student in need!
There are other Tech Drive Tuesdays coming up outside of Faribault/Mankato: Tuesday, August 18th in Lakeville (17555 Kenwood Trail W) and Tuesday, August 25th in Eagan (1642 Diffley Rd.).
