In the mayhem that followed Owatonna's Section 1-4A title-clinching victory over Farmington Friday night, I spoke with the Huskies' five starters. The team topped the Tigers 69-61 for their eighth overall state tournament trip in boys basketball and second consecutive.

OHS senior Ty Creger

Ty Creger expressed appreciation for a packed Mayo Civic Center Arena after playing last year's section final and state tournament quarterfinal in front of "50 fans."

Huskies Senior Nick Williams

Nick Williams spoke of how close the players as a group with a large number of seniors on the OHS roster, and how excited he is to go to Target Center.

OHS senior Evan Dushek

Evan Dushek was very straight to the point. He said Owatonna's guard play was better in the win over Farmington, and that OHS will keep doing what they do, win.

Huskies junior Blake Burmeister

Blake Burmeister commented about the great balance Owatonna has with so many players able to contribute in many ways.

Huskies senior Brayden Williams

Brayden Williams answered questions from a television reporter (slight delay in the clip to his remarks). He said this group has been looking forward to accomplishing great things.

OHS Coach Josh Williams

The Huskies earned the No. 2 seed at state, which surprised coach Josh Williams a bit. Owatonna was the second seed in the section tournament and beat a pair of rated teams to reach state.
