With the 4th of July falling on Saturday the 4th of July holiday trading schedule is a little unusual. The grain and livestock markets will close early Thursday at noon. All the ag markets will be closed on Friday and of course for the weekend like normal. The grain markets will open at 7:00 pm Sunday evening for the overnight session and the livestock markets will open Monday morning at 8:30.

Many years it seem like the 4th of July holiday is a turning point for the corn and soybean markets. This year is no exception. We had a bullish surprise from the USDA with the acres report and the longer range forecast is above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation. Many communities will be having fireworks Saturday evening. Maybe Sunday evening when the grain markets open after the 4th of July holiday we will see more fireworks?
