Faribault forward Abigail Goodwin had a hat trick in the third period to help the Falcons pull away from Red Wing on the road last night in girls hockey.  The first period was scoreless.

47 seconds into the second period Faribault opened the scoring on a Grace McCoshen unassisted goal.  Olivia Williamson connected at the 8:12 mark on an assist from Haley Lang. Red Wing got their lone goal 10:11 into the period to make it 2-1 after two periods.

Goodwin scored 3:31 into the third period on an assist from Emily Wilder.  She then scored on assists by Rylie Starkson and Emily Wilder 7:46 into the period.  That goal was 44 seconds after Haley Lang found the back of the net on an assist from Isabelle Stephes.  Goodwin's third goal of the period was scored 15:01 with an assist to Starkson.

Flacons Senior Mikayla Bohner stopped 25 shots.  The Falcons had 31 shots on goal and Red Wing 26.

Faribault was 0 for 3, Red Wing 0 for 2 on the power play.

The Falcons play St. Peter tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. at the Faribault Ice Arena.  Faribault is 3-0 and 2-0 in the Big Nine.  They are averaging 8 goals a game while giving up under 2 goals per contest.
