Gary Kunz Farm Service Agency Report

This afternoon on my Farm News I talked with Gary Kunz Farm Service Agency (FSA) Director in Rice and Le Sueur counties. All county FSA offices are busy with crop certification. Remember due to COVID-19 it is a little different this year. You can call and pick up your maps. Fill them out and bring back to the FSA office or they can email the maps and then you can email them back.

Gary emphasized that help is on the way soon for farmers from the CARES Act and the CCC. There will be a State wide training session for all county FSA staff on Friday. So, please be patient and give them a couple days after Memorial Day before calling for an appointment. Also, under the Wildfire Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus (WHIP +) it looks like many farmers will qualify for a payment under that program too.
