Earlier this summer, Treasure Island announced a special show with comedian Gabriel Iglesias. Gabriel Iglesias, also known as Fluffy, is one of the biggest acts in the comedy world and is scheduled to perform live at Treasure Island Resort and Casino on Saturday, July 31st. This morning we wondered if the show would be postponed or canceled after learning that Iglesias had tested positive for COVID-19 and is show symptoms.

Gabriel tweeted the news to his fans, “I’ve started showing some symptoms and, fortunately, it wasn’t debilitating. I’m still able to talk. I just have some body aches, some chills. Other than that, I feel pretty good. My health is OK, I’ve been vaccinated. I give credit to that for getting me through this.” I reached out to Treasure Island to check on the status of the show, you can read their full comment below.

According to the NY Daily News, “The diagnosis forced him to cancel his remaining shows at the Tobin Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he had been performing since late June. Iglesias said, “As soon as I have three negative tests, I’ll go back to work. But until then, I’m just going to lay low.”

Will The Gabriel Iglesias Show at Treasure Island Be Canceled?

Michelle Westberg, a PR rep for TI Casino, told me the show is still scheduled with no changes: “In speaking with Gabriel’s representation, he fully expects to make a recovery in time for his show at the Treasure Island Amphitheater on July 31. Should there be any changes, all ticket holders will be notified. We wish Fluffy a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you at the show!"
