Freeborn County Releases Picture of Ring Found with Body

Freeborn County authorities have released the picture of a ring found with a body alongside a freeway. Officials are hoping for leads in determining the identity of the person.

Skeletal remains were found this week by a property owner who was cleaning up garbage near a fence by the freeway. The body appears to have been there for years and officials have little to go on in learning the identity of what they believe was a man. The ring pictured below was found with the body.

The body was found on the south side of east-bound Interstate 90 and a half-mile east of Highway 13. Officials have not determined a cause of death. They believe it could be a suspicious death considering the proximity of a convenience store if the individual had simply been lost or hitchhiking. A first autopsy has taken place, with more detailed testing yet to come.
