Four Killed in Twin Cities Crash
Richfield, MN (KROC-AM News) - A wrong-way vehicle crash on I-35W in the Twin Cities Saturday night resulted in the deaths of four people.
The State Patrol says the deadly crash occurred just before 10 PM in the northbound lanes of the freeway in Richfield when an SUV collided with a car traveling in the wrong direction. The driver of the car, identified as 21-year-old Alfredo Torres of St. Paul, was among the four fatalities.
The driver of the SUV was also killed. She was identified by the State Patrol as 25-year-old Briana Vasquez of Watertown, South Dakota. Two of her passengers were also killed. 27-year-old Tyler Fried was from Vermillion, South Dakota, while the fourth victim was identified as 28-year-old Hassan Abdulmalik of Bloomington. A third passenger in the SUV, 25-year-old Alaura Fried of Lakeville, was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
