31 people returned from Ballard's resort on Thursday afternoon(19 from Faribault and 12 from  Rochester area.

As I told you about on Tuesday night, the fishing was a little slow. Most of us did a little better on Wednesday. But it seemed like everyone had a good time.

According to the folks a Ballard's, the fishing generally in the are has been a little slow this last week. And due to rough ice conditions where they usually go a little farther north, they were not able to go in that area this year. They had good ice forming, then we had a warm-up and the areas that had open water caused some ridges in spots they would normally travel to get to and it would tear up equipment to get there, so basically it is what it is this year and the guides are doing a great job trying to get people on the fish.

My friend Nick and I cam back with 12, 5 walleye 7 saugers. Biggest was 16". Some people come some other fish in the slot area that had to be put back. And we had quite a few little ones that went back.

Everyone enjoyed having the extra day on the trip and many are hoping to join us again next year. You can keep tabs on Ballard's at ballardsresort.com. There are still chances to go back this season if you want to do a trip on your own and they are booking for fishing trips in May.

If anyone that was on the trip has any pictures they would like to share send them to pics@kdhl.com. And we hope you will join us again.
