Bundle up buttercup, the National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for all of southern Minnesota tonight.

Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing for the first time this season overnight tonight, with lows expected to drop into the upper 20s by morning.

Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent outdoor water pipes and irrigation systems from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
