Minnesota’s Best Kept Secret is an Amazing Historic Site
Minnesota is full of wonders in our great outdoors. The Mississippi Headwaters, Voyageurs National Park, The North Shore, Gooseberry Falls, 64 State Parks, 10,000+ lakes, and a whole lot more.
When it comes to the best of what Minnesota has to offer, the northern part of our state gets most of the glory. Southern Minnesota has swiftly risen on my 'favorite places' list, with it's own unique state parks, Mississippi bluffs areas, and all the small rivers and towns.
The fact that the rest of the state heads 'up north,' while the few rest of us enjoy the south is just fine with me. If nothing else, its easier to find a a campsite. ⛺

Did you say Jeffers Petroglyphs?
Reader's Digest: Located southwest of New Ulm, the 7,000 year-old rock carvings made the list as our states contribution to the coolest places in America.
Jeffers Petroglyphs is home to about 5,000 sacred rock carvings, also called petroglyphs, made by the ancestors of today’s Native Americans. Jeffers tells the story of this continent like no other place — connecting visitors to those who lived and traveled in ancient times across what is now known as North America.
