FFA Winter Leadership Day

The FFA Region 8 Winter Leadership Day was held Friday at Riverland Community College in Austin. There were a lot of FFA members, Advisors and volunteers at Riverland Friday! It has been a number of years that I have helped judge the Creed Contest. The FFA member stands in the front of the room and recites the FFA Creed. We have score sheets and each judge ranks the FFA members, we cumulate all the scores and come up with the final ranking. The winner earns the right to compete at the State FFA Convention this spring.

There were a number of other activities going on all at the same time at the FFA Winter Leadership Day. They included Job Interview, Best Informed Greenhand, Extemporaneous Speaking, Job Interview, Prepared Public Speaking, and Discussion Meet. In addition there were Region Officer Interviews, State Officer Interviews, Placement Interviews, State Degree Interviews, just to name a few. A lot of volunteers and supporters of the FFA are needed at each of these events.
