The State Patrol has updated its incident report to include the driver information. Both drivers were from Austin with the driver of the Toyota that caught fire being 27-year-old Keith Prescott Crape. Crape was unrestrained in his vehicle and died of injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Acadia was 44-year-old Oscar Agustin Perez Morales who was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin with non-life threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol has reported that there was a fatal car crash on Highway 218 this morning near Blooming Prairie. The crash occurred about 1 mile South of Blooming Prairie according to the report. 

According to the incident report from the State Patrol, a Toyota Camry was southbound on Highway 218 Friday morning around 5:40AM. At the same time, a GMC Acadia was northbound on Highway 218. Both vehicles collided.

The State Patrol has reported that after the car and SUV collided the Toyota caught fire.

The crash was reported on Highway 218 about 1 mile S of Blooming Prairie, in Westfield Township.

The report has not been completed, pending further investigation from the Minnesota State Patrol. We will update this post with more information when it becomes available.
