Sign up for the new Farm Bill is underway. The deadline to sign up is March 15, 2020. If you do not sign up you will not receive any payments even if they are earned in the PLC or ARC County Programs. Unlike the last Farm Bill, after the first 2 years we can change our selection each year. So, which program are you more likely to earn a payment, ARC County, PLC, or ARC Individual?

So that you can make an informed decision the Minnesota Farm Service Agency and University of Minnesota Extension Service have scheduled 4 Farm Bill meetings in our area. Thursday January 23, 2020 from 10:00 am to noon at the Steele County Community Center and also on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in Albert Lea on the Freeborn County Fairgrounds. Then on Monday the 27th 10:00 am to noon at the Mabel Community Center and 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Heintz Center in Rochester.

There is no cost and you do not have to pre-register. Plus, you can ask the Extension Educator their opinion on which program you would be most likely to earn a payment. When you go to the Farm Service Agency to sign up they will not give you their opinion! Remember, the deadline to sign up is March 15, 2020.
