The people who are behind bringing your students to and from school safely recently went into the lunch business. Faribault Transportation was recently recognized for donating more than $2,000 to Faribault Public Schools to go towards students' lunch debt.

In a post to the Faribault School Districts Facebook page, the school district thanked the transportation company for the thoughtful donation.

"A huge thank you to Faribault Transportation and its staff for donating $2,104 toward our students' negative lunch balances! Director of finance and operations Andrew Adams accepted the donation and expressed his appreciation on behalf of the district last week at the Faribault Transportation Christmas party." - Faribault Public Schools

Faribault Transportation thanked it's employees for the generous efforts in addressing students' negative lunch balances.

Over Thanksgiving, another donation from various businesses totalling more than $2,200 was made to offset students' lunch debt. According to a December 15 newsletter "On the week of Thanksgiving, senior student and DECA president Kelsie Demars worked with Healthy Impact and other local businesses on a promotion to pay off student lunch debt. The combined donations of all the businesses totaled $2,242 and helped pay down the lunch accounts of 100 students throughout the district!"

In other Faribault Public School District news, recently 41 students from the student councils at FHS and Jefferson Elementary headed to Walmart to spend the over $9,000 they raised for Toys for Tots! The high school student council raised money by hosting a talent show and a dunk tank as well as hosting the Sadie Hawkins dance. Jefferson students sold candy canes and suckers at lunch and recess.
