Faribault Man Among 3 Men Found With A Pound Of Meth
Minnesota River Valley Drug Force Task Force officials say they have taken more than a pound of methamphetamine valued between $4,000 and $6,000 off the streets Thursday night. Three men have been charged after authorities allegedly found a gun, nearly $13,000 and the alleged meth in a Southern Minnesota building.
The arrests were made Thursday night in New Ulm as part of an investigation of a suspected meth distribution ring in and around New Ulm and Mankato, according to the Mankato Free Press.
The task force obtained a warrant to search an automotive shop building located on North Front St. in New Ulm and found 36-year-old Adam Miller of Faribault, 45-year-old Trevor Randall of St. James, and 34-year-old Michael Schugel from Lake Crystal.
Task Force members allegedly found over 400 grams of meth inside a convertible and over 80 grams of meth inside of a motorhome. Another 16 grams of meth was found in a loft area near where Schugel was found. Randall told police he was renting the shop, and then allegedly admitted he was a meth user and might have had some meth in the RV. Randall then allegedly told law enforcement that the meth found in the convertible belonged to Miller. A handgun was also reportedly found in a bucket located in a utility room.
Nearly $8,700 was found in a corner where Miller was found hiding and another $3,900 reportedly was found hidden in a speaker. Miller appeared to task force members to be under the influence and was taken to a hospital before he was booked into jail.
Randall was charged Friday in Brown County District Court with felony counts of drug sales, drug possession and possessing a gun after a prior violent felony conviction. Miller was charged with felony counts of drug sales and drug possession. Shugel was charged with felony drug possessions.
