Faribault Lakers Will Play Sunday

The Faribault Lakers at St. Benedict Saints Minnesota Baseball Association Region 3C Baseball Tournament game was rained out today.

The two teams hope to get the game in beginning 2:00 p.m. Sunday.  The next game for those teams has also been moved to Monday night at 8:00 p.m.

The winner plays at Bonin Field in St. Patrick 8:00 p.m. Monday for a berth to the State Tournament hosted by Faribault, Dundas and Miesville.

Friday night top seed St. Patrick blanked Veseli 6-0.

Ryan Friedges clubbed a three run home run and Kyle Rhodus hit a RBI single for the Irish.  Colin Denk was the winning pitcher.

Union Hill cruised by New Prague 10-0 in 7 innings with Conrad Masberg going the distance on the Hill and Nate Berg cracking a 3-run homer.

In Section 5C Tournament action in Cannon Falls no games were completed today.  Here is the revised schedule for Sunday, August 7, 2022.

At Noon in Cannon Falls Stewartville/Racine plays against Dodge County while at the same time Red Wing faces Lake City in Red Wing.

At 3:00 p.m. Wanamingo tangles with Hastings in Red Wing while Cannon Falls goes up against Austin in Cannon Falls.

Losers of the Cannon Falls games play 6:00 p.m. in Cannon Falls and losers of the Red Wing contests collide at 6:00 p.m. in Red Wing.

Winners in Cannon Falls and Red Wing Sunday will play Monday at 7:30 p.m. at those sites.

In Section 6C one game was completed with Jordan rolling to a 13-0 win over Morristown in Belle Plaine.

Sunday 11:00 a.m. Wells takes on Belle Plaine with the winner playing Jordan at 4:00 p.m.  The loser will play 1:30 p.m. against Morristown.

In Waterville at 11:00 a.m. Gaylord and Minnesota Lake hook up and at 1:30 p.m. it's Waterville against St. Peter.  Winners play 6:30 p.m. Losers play 4:00 p.m. Sunday in Waterville.

Section 1B games were all held Friday night with Miesville blanking Hampton 7-0.  Sunday at 2:00 p.m. the series shifts to Hampton.  Dundast outlasted New Market 8-7 in Dundas because they have lights.  The higher seed New Market hosts the Dukes Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The Rochester Royals crushed Elko 14-0 with winning pitcher Matt Meyer throwing a 1 hitter while the Royals had 14 hits in the dominating performance in Rochester.
