The Faribault Falcons girls hockey team entertained fans Thursday at the Faribault Ice Arena to a 9-0 victory over the Rochester John Marshall Rockets.  The Falcons peppered the nets to the tune of 63 shots while senior goalie Mikayla Bohner stopped all 12 shots on goal by the Rockets.

Senior Olivia Williamson scored 4 goals in the runaway.  Eighth grader Grace McCoshen added a three point night with a goal and two assists.  Senior Abigail Goodwin had 2 goals and an assist.

Faribault has been scoring a lot of goals but has not been very strong on the power play so far this season.  They were 2 for 4 in this game and were successful in killing off the only penalty they had late in the second period.

The Falcons scored just one goal in the first period.  3:56 into the game Williamson got her first goal unassisted.  This despite a 22-7 shots on goal advantage.

In the second period the shots on goal were 23-1 in favor of Faribault.  They tallied 5 goals.  3:34 Williamson unassisted.  4:05 Goodwin assisted by McCoshen.  6:31 Williamson got a power play goal assisted by McCoshen.  12:07 junior Rylie Starkson scored on a Goodwin assist for the other Faribault power play goal.  13:42 McCoshen scored with the assist by senior Haley Lang.

Third period shots were 18-4 in favor of Faribault and they scored three more goals.

:15 seconds into the period Williamson got another unassisted goal.  5:30 junior Ashley Rost scored an unassisted goal.  9:38 Goodwin was assisted by Lang.

Faribault is 8-1, John Marshall falls to 2-6.  The Rockets host Fairmont Saturday at 5:00 p.m. while the Falcons are in New Ulm for a 3:00 p.m. game.
