Faribault Falcon Head Coach Bill Bardal's Section 1AAA seed predictions were spot on Saturday at the Faribault Interiors Show.

The Falcons (14-12) enter the tournament with a quality win recently over state ranked Waseca and a win over Class 4A Rochester Century.  Faribault hopes to see Northfield again and if that happens it will be in the finals.  The Falcons have had two very close losses this season to the Big Nine Conference champions.

The Raiders (23-3) finished the season on an eight game winning streak and had the best defense in the league this year.  Allowing 42.3 points per game.

Faribault had the second best points allowed per game average at 45.2 and Red Wing was the only other team in the conference to give up under 50 points per game (46.7).

Northfield doesn't play until Saturday against the winner of #4 Austin (13-13) and #5 Kasson-Mantorville (8-18).  Which means the Raiders begin their tournament title quest in Rochester 6:30 Saturday night in the Mayo Civic Arena,

The Falcons will open Wednesday night at home against Albert Lea (4-22).

#2 Red Wing (20-6) hosts two time defending Section Champion Winona (1-25).

Winners of those two clashes play 8:15 p.m. Saturday in the Mayo Civic Arena.

Coach Bardal is confident his team will not look past Albert Lea Wednesday and play their best brand of ball saying the Falcons, "are three quality wins away from dancing."

If that happens I'll join the huddle dance if they let me.
