The Cannon Falls Bomber boys basketball team closed out their home season Saturday with a 89-63 win over the Mabel-Canton Cougars in the Bomber's Hangar.  It was the best point total in a game this season.

The Bombers celebrated their four seniors.  Ryan Dirckz, Isaac Banks, Gage Hildebrandt and Chase Reber were honored just before the introductions of the starting lineups for the game.

The contest started early in anticipation of a winter storm because Mabel-Canton had a long drive in front of them.  Cannon Falls certainly lived up to their name with 11 three point baskets in the game and the Cougars connected on seven three pointers.

While it was Senior Day four underclassmen finished the game in double figures to lead Cannon Falls in scoring. 6'1 junior Kendric Banks had 15 points, 5'10 sophomore Luke Sjoquist tallied 11 points, 5'11 junior Isaac Illa and 5'9 sophomore Felix Agyeman had 10 points each.

Mabel-Canton juniors 5'10 Drew Wyffels and 6'1 Blake Henry had 18 points each.  The Cougars trailed 47-34 at the halftime break thanks in large part to Cannon Falls scoring 11 points off six turnovers.

The Bombers were 10 of 14 from the free throw line and the Cougars 12 of 24.

Mabel-Canton finished the season 8-17 and Cannon Falls 11-14 will end their season Monday with a trip to Stewartville.

The Section 1AA playoffs begin Thursday for the Bombers.

Mabel-Canton has a play-in game Tuesday at Houston in the Section 1A playoffs with the winner going to top seed Rushford-Peterson.
