Faribault Emeralds Place in Both Competitions at State

The Faribault Emeralds Dance Team placed second in Class 2A High Kick and fourth in Jazz competition at the 2016 State Girls Dance Team Tournament.

Friday was Jazz competition and Saturday the High Kick.

Faribault was the 3A High Kick champion in 2015 amid controversy at the awards ceremony. The Minnesota State High School League took steps to avoid history repeating itself.

Totino-Grace, Fridley captured the 2A Jazz title. Eastview, Apple Valley was the 3A Jazz champion and Frazee won the 1A Jazz crown.

Faribault dancers Samantha Pierce and Bailey Grossman were named to the Class 2A Jazz All-Tournament team.

Totino-Grace, Fridley was also the Class 2A High Kick champion.Eastview, Apple Valley won the 3A title and Aitkin captured their third straight Class 1A High Kick crown. Cannon Falls placed fourth.

Named to the Class 2A All-Tournament High Kick team from Faribault were Samantha Pierce and Taviah Johnson.

Named to the Class 1A High Kick All Tournament team from Cannon Falls were Brooke Hogan and McKenna Bauer.
