Faribault Boys Basketball Runs Away From Mankato West

The Faribault Falcons boys basketball team turned Mankato West turnovers into points in a 72-46 win at Nomeland Gym tonight.  The Falcons had 27 points off 18 Scarlets turnovers while they committed just 8 turnovers and gave up four points.  Faribault senior Joe Palmer had 22 of his 26 points in the first half.

The Falcons were particularly impressive on defense where they produced a number of turnovers and didn't give Mankato West many open looks.  Junior Abdi Abdullahi was the only other Faribault player in double figures, finishing with 14 points.  Palmer had 9 rebounds and Abdullahi 7 rebounds.

Faribault enjoyed a 36-27 lead at the half and according to KDHL statistics had a slim 28-27 advantage in rebounds.

Following the game Head Coach Eric Hildebrandt said it was nice winning their second consecutive game in convincing fashion.  The Falcons are now 5-6 overall and 4-5 in the Big 9.  Mankato West is 3-9 overall and 1-7 in league play.

Faribault travels to Northfield Tuesday for a girls/boys doubleheader with the Raiders and the is in Rochester to square off with Matthew Hurt and the Rochester John Marshall Rockets.
