The Faribault Falcon gilrs team went into Austin short-handed on Friday night. Rachel Hanson was out due to a concussion and Elana Palmer was out due to illness. So Madison Rendler and Megan Gehrke filled the spots in the lineup.

The Falcons lead 27-21 at the half and in the second half at one point had built up a pretty good lead. But with 30 seconds left the game ended up being tied. Grace Amacher got the ball to Gehrke, who got a layup. Austin had just a few seconds to get a shot off, they went for three it missed and the Falcons won.

Besides missing two starters, the Falcons were also hampered by only shooting 6 of 20 from the free throw line.

Bre Bresnahan didn't get any points but was great on defense, holding back the Packers' Colie Justice. Bresnahan along with Rendler, Grace Amacher, Megan Gehrke and Abby Van Ryn were our State Farm Insurance Players of the game. Amacher had 17 points to lead the Falcons and Rendler had 13.

The Falcons (9-10) host Rochester John Marshall on Tuesday. They will face Austin again at home next Saturday, Feb. 11
