The last of three Downtown Thursday summer promotions in Owatonna is cued up for a big night on August 4. Great weather will greet shoppers, browsers, music lovers, and those looking for a bite to eat. The Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism boasts of "45 things to do at Downtown Thursday" in their Tuesday Talk e-newsletter.

"Check out the strong finish with three bands, 12 food vendors, 30 booths, not to mention local restaurants, stores and even some surprises," the newsletter indicates. View the list of participants on the Downtown Thursday website.

Crista Bohlmann performs at 5 pm on the stage in the 300 block of North Cedar. The Murphy Brothers take the stage in Central Park from 7 to 9 pm.

The chamber is celebrating its 75th anniversary and 50 years of the Ambassador program with memorabilia at their booth Thursday from 5 to 8:30 pm.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Tuesday Talk reports on the progress of the North Cedar Streetscape Project, "There is light at the end of Cedar Avenue! The recent installation of lights, tables, and planters have really given a glimpse of what the downtown is going to look like and its new spaces...Take a walk on Cedar Avenue and see for yourself. It's amazing!"

THE CHAMBER AT THE FAIR

The Owatonna Chamber will have a booth at the upcoming Steele County Free Fair on August 16 through 21 in Owatonna. They invite chamber businesses, who aren't running a booth of their own, to join them for a chance to be part of the biggest county fair in Minnesota.

Businesses can sign up for a shift, "Wear your company logo shirt, bring a handout and promote your business along with promoting Owatonna. No cost for members to participate and instructions will be provided."
