Dolly Parton will put her business savvy to use as the namesake of a new, fashion-forward line of jewelry, accessories and home goods. The lifestyle product line will be part of Parton's global licensing deal with IMG, a promotion company owned by entertainment marketers WME, with whom Parton signed in 2018.

“I am excited to be working with IMG on a global scale to give my fans products that they will cherish for years to come,” the country music legend tweeted on May 2. "You might even see my mug on a mug!”

For Parton, IMG provides a proven force in global promotions for her forthcoming business venture. IMG, meanwhile, scores an instantly recognizable and reputable celebrity.

“Dolly Parton is an international icon and we are thrilled to be working with her," says IMG Licensing Vice President Gary Krakower in a press release. "Together, we look forward to building cohesive lifestyle brand products that will celebrate Dolly and bring her iconic style and personality to her millions of fans worldwide in engaging new ways.”

Parton's new deal continues a long history of country stars' investments and licensing deals: Jimmy Dean Sausage, Kenny Rogers Roasters, Minnie Pearl's Chicken and Wrangler's George Strait Collection are all past examples.

This deal is the latest development in what should be a busy and lucrative 2019 for Parton. This fall, Netflix will debut Dolly Parton's Heartstrings, an eight-part series with each episode based on one of Parton's hit songs. In addition, Parton's theme park in the Smoky Mountains, Dollywood, turns 33 this year.
