Cover Crops 101 This Evening

The Rice County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) will be sponsoring a meeting titled Cover Crops 101 this evening at the Forest Township Hall in Rice County. From Interstate 35 North of Faribault take the Millersburg Boulevard exit and head west. It is just up the road beyond the round about. The program will run from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The address of the Forest Township Hall is 3625 Millersburg Boulevard Faribault  Minnesota 55021.

You do not have to pre-register and there is no charge. Everyone is welcome and FREE pizza will be served. Tom Cotter a 2017 Cover Crop Champion and TJ Karts from Saddle Butte seed company will talk about cover crop seed origination, species and establishment before giving a "year one" cover crop plan. Also, Alan Krause from the Cannon River Watershed Partnership will share results of a nitrate sampling project in Rice County.
